Cracked Tooth
Sometimes teeth can develop cracks. Cracks can come from dental trauma or large fillings that weaken the rest of the tooth over time.
A cracked tooth may or may not be sensitive to temperature — or painful when biting or chewing. If cracks in the teeth are not treated, they can lead to serious consequences for your oral health.
Even small cracks allow bacteria into the tooth, causing infection, decay, or further destruction. Cracks that progress too far can result in entire sections of the tooth breaking off, and in some cases, loss of the entire tooth.
Call BOCO Dental if you are experiencing pain or have sharp fragments due to a cracked tooth. Severe cases may require emergency treatment.
